10th El Paso policeman accused of overtime fraud
Associated Press
Another El Paso police officer has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation of alleged misuse of two grant funds destined to pay for overtime.
An El Paso police statement Thursday said Lt. Alfred Lowe is being investigated for possible violations in his oversight of two grants received for gang enforcement.
Also, El Paso city officials have named an auditor to examine the El Paso police grant division.
Earlier this year, eight police officers resigned amid allegations that they fraudulently collected overtime payments from federal funds given for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program and Impaired Driver Mobilization programs.
